MoreApple Intelligence is coming to the Vision Pro, and that's a good thing
Apple has talked about rolling out Apple Intelligence to Macs, iPhones, and iPads only. But, apparently, it's also planning to implement the new AI features into its Vision Pro spatial computing headset sometime next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who also wrote in his report that some Apple Intelligence features might be paywalled in the future. An AI upgrade for the Vision Pro could bring smarter notifications, generative writing tools, a chatbot, and an updated Siri, which means more productivity opportunities all in AR. Integrating Apple Intelligence features should be pretty easy -- an update to visionOS is all that's likely needed. The real challenge? Tweaking the Apple Intelligence interface to fit a mixed-reality format. Apple hasn't released numbers, but there's been less chatter about the Vision Pro since its release in February, and Apple has reportedly scaled back production due to low demand. You can even find base models going for $1,000 on eBay right now.
Will you watch the Paris 2024 Olympics?
Four years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic made for an unconventional 2020 Olympics for Tokyo, which makes this year's Paris games even more exciting. However, I've personally cut cable and don't have a Peacock subscription. So, rather than paying for yet another streaming service, I'm thinking of taking Chris Hachey's advice and investing in a smart TV antenna to watch my favorite events like women's gymnastics and men's swimming for free. That is, when I'm not actually in Paris for the Olympics as I was lucky enough to snag some seats for the men's basketball final game.
Over a decade later, and we're still talking about the iPhone 4s
Patrick is right -- the iPhone 4s from 2011 is still a stunner today. Its design really set it apart back in the day, with its classy glass back. Yes, it's a solid and blocky phone, but frankly, it's easier to grip than the super slim phones we all have now. One of the quirkiest things about this old phone is the 30-pin connector. I remember how much of a pain this was to disconnect, but at the same time, it clicks in so satisfyingly secure -- something you don’t really get with today’s connectors. Plus, there’s something neat about the camera being flush with the back of the phone, unlike today’s models with their camera bumps. Despite its pretty outdated specs, the iPhone 4s was ahead of its time. It’s a blast from the past and a reminder of how much things have evolved. It’s more than just nostalgia; it’s a nod to Apple’s lasting impact on phone design and tech in general. I got to say, though... I don't miss the home button.
